Caribbean Poker is a poker game that is overlooked more times then not when players are looking for a game to play in a casino. Whether you’re playing in a land based casino or an online casino Caribbean Poker is an excellent game to try out. Generally the house has a roughly 5% edge to start the hand over you which isn’t that bad considering it’s a casino game.

To start the hand you will need to play your ante bet into the correct spot on the table and then the dealer will announce that there are no more bets. Most Caribbean PartyPoker games will have a progressive jackpot attached to it which costs $1 a hand. If you hit a royal flush then you win the progressive jackpot which can often be six or seven figures so it’s worth spending $1 every hand to play in it.

After the Caribbean Stud bets have been finalized the dealer will deal out five cards face down to you and then they will deal themselves five cards, but one of them will be face up. The face up card is shown to give you an idea of what the dealer might have. You can now look at your hand to see what you have. You will only want to play if you have a pair or better.

If you have a pair or better and you want to continue in the hand then you will need to place out another bet which is double your initial ante. Once you have done this the dealer will flip over their other four cards to see what they have. They will need at least an A-K or better in order to qualify for the hand. If the dealer doesn’t qualify then you automatically win 1:1 on your ante and your second bet is returned. If the dealer does qualify and you win then you will win 1:1 on your ante as well as a payout on your second bet. The amount you will win on your second bet will be dependant of what you have. The payouts you will find in most casinos are as followed.

* 1:1 – Pair
* 2:1 – Two Pair
* 3:1 – Three of a Kind
* 4:1 – Straight
* 5:1 – Flush
* 7:1 – Full House
* 20:1 – Four of a Kind
* 50:1 – Straight Flush
* 100:1 – Royal Flush

Once you are paid out on your second bet on Everest Poker the hand is over and you will need to put in your ante bet again while the dealer shuffles up the cards. Typically you will in most casinos that the minimum for playing Caribbean Poker is a $15 ante and $30 second bet although if you play in an online casino you will have a lot lower minimums which is just one of the advantages of playing online and not in a casino.

You only need to hit one big hand when you’re playing Caribbean Poker in order to walk away from the table with a big profit. You will also find that you can win a lot of hands by the dealer not qualifying so don’t always fold when you have nothing because the dealer doesn’t qualify very often typically unless you’re just running into a bad table.
